Angela Rivers is the Consumer & Small Business Third Party Executive accountable for the third party strategy, governance, performance and risk management of all third parties supporting Retail & Small Business.

Angela has a combined tenure of 19 years with the bank, starting with the company in Corporate Investigations, responsible for internal investigations in North Carolina.  She has led policy management & governance, regulatory compliance execution, and fraud detection and resolution for the Contact Centers and Digital Banking.

She also spent 4 years at Wells Fargo as a Senior Vice President in a variety of leadership roles including the Chief Administrative Officer-Head of Governance & Programs and Policy Risk Management & Governance for the Payments, Virtual Solutions & Innovations organization.

Prior to starting her banking career, Angela worked in law enforcement for 17 years, including criminal investigations for the Raleigh Police Department and the Department of Revenue.

Angela is a native Charlottean, and is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice.

Outside of work, Angela has recently been appointed to the INROADS National Board, is a member of the N.C. State College of Humanities & Social Sciences Dean’s Advisory Board, the N.C State Charlotte Regional Council and Friends of Friendship Day School.  She is the former state president of the North State Law Enforcement Officers Association.  Her work in law enforcement resulted in her being a recipient of the N.C. Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest award bestowed by the Governor of North Carolina in recognition of outstanding public service to the state.  She is an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and resides in Harrisburg, NC with her husband Roy, her great niece and nephew, Ashaurrea and Amauri.
