The summer of 1990 marked a turning point for Angel Cruzado. Through INROADS, he interned at Otis Elevator Company (a United Technologies Corporation) in a District Manager role—early exposure to leadership and corporate operations that set the tone for his people-centered career. After graduating from Bentley University, he built a track record in human resources and people operations across technology, media, and financial services.

Angel went on to lead HR and people operations functions at major companies including Medtronic, Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, Rogue Games, and Pearl Abyss, before serving as Head of People at Empowerly, where he built the HR function from the ground up. Across these roles, he focused on culture, manager development, and guiding organizations through change.

Today, Angel is the Founder & CEO of Respiris, a purpose-driven outplacement platform he created after years of helping people navigate job transitions. Respiris blends AI-enabled tools with 1:1 coaching from experienced HR leaders, partnering with executives to deliver transitions grounded in dignity, speed, and human connection—“not checkbox services or ghosted emails.” The platform has already supported employees with personalized coaching and practical resources, demonstrating Angel’s belief that every exit deserves the same intention as every hire.

Alongside this work, Angel continues to advise and support growing companies as a Fractional Head of HR, extending his impact as both a strategist and mentor. At the center of his career is a consistent theme: building workplaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. With Respiris, he has extended that mission beyond hiring and development to include the most difficult moments of transition—proving that with empathy, innovation, and preparation, every stage of the career journey can be handled with dignity and purpose.
