ATIBA EDWARDS | President and CEO, Brooklyn Children’s Museum
Published August 2026Atiba Edwards’s career demonstrates how mentorship and community-focused leadership can drive meaningful change. His journey with INROADS began in 2001, when he joined J.P. Morgan as a Summer Analyst in Global Equities. “INROADS equipped me with a variety of skills that have been integral in my journey, starting with the setting and pursuit of a goal regardless of how unachievable it may seem in the eyes of others,” he shares. The experience also taught him the importance of strong networks and supportive mentors—lessons that have guided his leadership ever since.
Today, Atiba serves as President and CEO of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, where he leads initiatives that foster cultural education and community engagement. His leadership reflects a lifelong dedication to creating opportunities for underrepresented communities and ensuring that art and education remain accessible to all.
Atiba continues to invest deeply in community advancement through his nonprofit work with FOKUS, which uses the arts to educate, empower, and unite communities. His impact extends beyond his organization as well—he has served on the board of the Association of Children’s Museums and held leadership roles within the INROADS Alumni Association of New York City, strengthening the alumni network and supporting professional growth among emerging leaders.
He encourages current interns to take full advantage of INROADS network and mentorship. “Make sure you are leveraging the resources at INROADS—the staff, the mentors, the alumni association, and anyone who may be at your company who was also an INROADS intern. They all have traveled a road you are currently on,” he advises.
Atiba’s journey—from his early experiences in finance to his leadership in cultural and educational institutions—reflects how INROADS helps individuals turn potential into purpose. His story stands as an inspiring example of how preparation, mentorship, and service can create lasting impact across industries and communities.
