Career Alchemist: How Natalie Martin Turns Every Transition into an Opportunity for Growth

Published June 2026

Natalie Martin has always been passionate about helping people find their place and potential. That passion was sparked in 2004 when she joined INROADS as a Pharmacy Intern at Aurora Health Care. Through her INROADS internship, she gained hands-on experience working alongside pharmacists, learning how healthcare systems operate, and developing the professional and leadership skills that would later define her career. “INROADS impacted my career journey by allowing me to have hands-on job experience as a pharmacist,” she recalls. “I was able to learn more about the healthcare system and build professional relationships with other professionals. INROADS taught me soft skills and leadership skills I still use today.”

What began as an internship in healthcare evolved into a career dedicated to connecting talent with opportunity. After earning her degree in Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Natalie transitioned into human resources and talent acquisition, where she discovered a new way to make an impact—by helping others find fulfilling careers. She built her recruiting career across several organizations, including a senior recruiting role at IBM, before joining Uber.
At Uber, she quickly distinguished herself as a results-driven recruiter and diversity champion. Within just over a year, she was promoted to Senior Technical Sourcing Recruiter, a role in which she led hiring for critical engineering and mobility teams. She also became an active member of employee resource groups such as Women@Uber and Black@Uber and served as a global board member for Parents@Uber. Her leadership and dedication to inclusion made her a key voice in shaping equitable hiring strategies across the organization.

Today, Natalie continues her work at the intersection of opportunity and empowerment, using her recruiting expertise and her experience as a certified professional in human resources to connect people with life-changing roles. She also applies her skills in real estate, helping individuals and families navigate major transitions with confidence.
Reflecting on her journey, Natalie credits INROADS with teaching her the importance of advocacy and adaptability—values that remain central to her success. She advises current interns, “Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Be open to change and never give up. Remember, you are your biggest advocate.”

Her story is a powerful example of how early exposure, mentorship, and professional training can shape a lifelong purpose. From her start as an INROADS intern to leading diversity hiring at one of the world’s most recognized brands, Natalie Martin continues to embody the INROADS mission—connecting talent with opportunity and helping others rise along the way.
