SHERELLE HILL | Executive Leader, Global HR Shared Services and People Technology at Gilead Sciences
Published August 2026Sherelle Hill’s professional journey began long before her first executive title. In 1993, as an INROADS Accounting Associate Intern at Cigna Insurance Company, she learned lessons that would stay with her for decades: how to navigate corporate environments, build professional relationships, and deliver results without losing herself in the process.
“INROADS introduced me to Corporate America, providing me the opportunity before college graduation to learn how to build professional relationships, deliver results, and remain authentic,” she recalls.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Eastern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in accounting and taxation from the University of Hartford, Sherelle became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and launched her career at PwC. From there, she moved into leadership roles with Cigna, Aetna, Raytheon Technologies, and RELX, where she managed large-scale HR and finance operations. Each step deepened her expertise in organizational design, service delivery, and people development.
Today, Sherelle is the Executive Leader of Global HR Shared Services and People Technology at Gilead Sciences, overseeing teams across multiple regions and driving new efficiencies in how the company supports its global workforce. She’s known for blending analytical discipline with a practical, people-first leadership style—a balance that has defined her career.
Her advice to current INROADS interns is as grounded as her own success: “Be authentic, be yourself. The right company will value this.”
Looking back, Sherelle credits INROADS for helping her find her footing early on. “Without INROADS, my journey would look very different,” she reflects. That first internship didn’t just start her career—it set the tone for how she leads today: focused, thoughtful, and true to herself.
