Finding Her Calling: How Zoya Jones-Reid Turned an INROADS Internship into a Human Resources Career Published October 2025
Zoya Jones-Reid has built an impactful career in Human Resources, fueled by her passion for people and the foundational skills gained during her INROADS internship.
While attending the University of West Georgia (Class of 2018), Zoya completed her INROADS internship with AT&T as a Mobility Sales Intern in 2017. That experience gave her the clarity and confidence to pursue her true passion in HR. “INROADS is an incredible mentor program that sets you up for success from the beginning,” Zoya reflects. “Receiving an internship prepares you for a real-world career post-graduation. For me, AT&T was a great company to intern with, and I knew HR was where my passion truly was.”
That same year, Zoya was named INROADS Mentee of the Year, an honor that highlighted her commitment to growing both personally and professionally.
Today, Zoya serves as a Human Resource Manager at Oak Street Health, where she continues to grow as a professional and leader. Her work reflects not only her expertise in HR but also her commitment to helping others succeed—a quality she first began honing during her time with INROADS.
Looking ahead, Zoya aspires to become Vice President of Human Resources, a goal that underscores her ambition to make a meaningful impact in her field.
Zoya encourages current and future students to embrace INROADS early in their college journey: “Join INROADS as early as possible. The earlier you start, the more opportunities you’ll have.” She also draws strength from her faith, reminding young women to believe in themselves: “The sky is NOT the limit for your potential.”
From mentee to manager, Zoya’s path demonstrates the power of mentorship, preparation, and following one’s passion. Her journey is proof that when you remain committed to growth and true to your calling, the possibilities are limitless.
