It was 50 years ago that INROADS was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Inspired by the legendary “I Have a Dream” speech, Frank Carr began INROADS to eliminate career barriers to corporate opportunities for people of color.
According to new research conducted by Fulbright Scholar Adam Davids of CareerTrackers, many INROADS alumni attain greater levels of wealth than that of their white, college-educated counterparts. As found in the 2016 Survey of Consumer Finances, approximately 37% of college-educated white households have a net worth range of $500K - $5M. In comparison, 40% of INROADS alumni have the same net worth range. Today, INROADS has more than 30,000 alumni in corporate positions around the globe. INROADS is the largest nonprofit organization committed to leadership and career development for underserved and underrepresented talent in the world, placing students in more than 154,000 paid internships throughout its history.
Currently, INROADS serves 800-1,300 interns and 200 corporate clients each year.
