Parker-MelonieMelonie D. Parker is Vice President of Human Resources and Communications at Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. Sandia Corporation manages and operates Sandia National Laboratories, a multi-program Department of Energy laboratory, under contract with the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Melonie is responsible for the leadership and labs-wide management of human resources, health, benefits, and employee services. Melonie is also responsible for Sandia’s communication efforts, which include planning, strategy, executive communications, media relations, external branding, community affairs and internal communications.

Most recently, she served as Director of Human Resources for the Undersea Systems line of business within the Mission Systems and Training (MST) Business Area, MST Strategy and Business Development, and MST Legal, at Lockheed Martin. Prior to this role, she served as Director, Workforce Strategy, Analytics & Acquisition, supporting the Electronic Systems Business Area, where she led the recruitment strategy and workforce planning initiatives for Electronic Systems. She previously served as the IS&GS Talent Acquisition Director leading recruiting teams for three product lines, and had oversight of Lockheed Martin’s Talent Acquisition Centers in Crystal City, VA; Tysons Corner, VA and Denver, CO. Melonie also served as the Human Resources Lead for the Mission & Unmanned Systems market segment within the Undersea Systems line of business in Riviera Beach, FL.

Ms. Parker has worked in human resources for more than 15 years. In that time, she has been responsible for Employee Relations, Staffing, EEO/Affirmative Action, Diversity Programs, Compensation, Benefits, and K-12 outreach initiatives. She serves as a National Board member for the INROADS organization and she represents Lockheed Martin as the Campus Liaison for Hampton University.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Hampton University in 1988, and a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Villanova University. Melonie graduated from Lockheed Martin’s Executive Assessment & Development Program in 2012. Ms. Parker was recognized with a Special Recognition Award at the 2014 Women of Color STEM Awards.
